Pre Elite Armor
I know this is a long shot, BUT.... what if...there could be a place in pre for elite armor, say AL 25, totally unique looking. There are so many ppl in pre now maybe that would be fun. You'd have to fight through charr, etc to get to it, akin to obtaining FoW armor. Might be fun. I know it may not happen, but this is a "just for fun" idea. Like to know what everyone thinks, but please dont flame me. Just a neat idea to brainstorm. Thanks !!!

Totally unique? As in not a reskin? Then wouldn't non perma-pre's want it?

Well, it could be for anyone - pre or non perma's. Pre is totally left out in events, etc. Many ppl like pre so might be a nice way to jazz things up a bit !!

Wouldnt it just slow down the process in a pre char since you have more armor and stuff?

I'd hate to have uniquely skinned armour that I couldn't keep on my max character.
I like the idea, but if you can't get the same at max level it would be pretty pointless.

a special something for the LDoA title holders

It's a cute idea.
Perhaps if they added an "elite" dungeon "Deep Catacombs" for example, accessible to players lvl 15 and up, at the end of which, you gain access to craftable 25AL completely unique armor. Then again, such a dungeon would only cheapen the LDoA title since the level of the foes would be greater than most of Pre-Searing to justify the level requirement. Hmm
How's that for brainstorming?

Use it for 55HP farming in Post-Searing, or just showing off in towns.
It would be a perk to starting a character in Prophecies, otherwise it's soooooo slow. I only had the patience to continue with one Tyrian character.
Or...just to brainstorm that little bit further...you could "meet up" with the armor crafter from Pre-Searing in Dragon's Lair after having Ascended...this would encourage people to complete the god-awful desert, and the crafter could then, for a fee, upgrade your armor to Max level.

Now that could be nice.
However when I said 'non perma-pres' I meant those of us (players in general) who already left Pre, don't want to make another Pre character or don't have the time/space for one. I'd feel left out, but then again it's just a game.

they could make a special little button in the login screen where you can login as a pre searing version of your character, and the stuff you get there carries over to your normal character and its like a completely new character, that way assassins, dervishes etc. can get it too......just a thought
theyll never do it though

Again, I'm for the addition of the Piken Square outpost:
- Accesible only to parties composed completely of level 16..20 characters.
- May have some NPCs they you find later in Eye of the North.
- Merchant.
*Vial of Dye [Gray] 50 Gold
*Salvage Kit 100 Gold
*Identification Kit 100
- Collectors:
*250 Charr carvings: Weapons.
*250 Charr Hides: 1 Armor pieces. Possibly: Char Hide, Fur-Lined, Woven, Cabal, Rogue and Flameforged armors. Including helms.
*25 Charr carvings:
**Salvage Kit 100 Gold
**Identification Kit 100
I would also go for making a 'copy' version player can go after talking to Simon the Scrybe, that has all monsters increased their levels by 20.
Player playing the 'copy' won't see the pre-Searin characters, and would be able to make parties of 4..8 there.
The Ascalon city won't be an outpost, but a Town, and would have the normal services. Everything else would be the same, just with creatures with more level and better builds.

let me have my input. i have 2 ldoa characters and this same idea has been bought up a million times before. im not particularly fussed about new armours in pre, but it would be fairly nice just to keep everyone else from moaning for a while. however. charr are allready stupidly easy thanks to runes and insignias and max bonus weapons. i would be very against having a higher armour level. it should be the same as collectors armour, 7 for casters, etc.
if they really wanted to do this. i would suggest they just have a pre searing version of 'Banoit' appear in piken square (in the northlands explorable area).
banoit is the armour crafter who appears in post searing ascalon, why not just have a low level version of him appear in pre. it would fit in with the storyline and they woudlnt need to make any new models or anything.
and of course the corresponding armour for other classes eg fur lined for rangers. the armour art is allready there, it would be easy to code in, would take only an hour or so to implement. hell i would pay the dev. costs myself just to see that anet will still be adding to the game at this point in time.
the only thing i suggest is.... it costs a BOMB. there arent any gold sinks in pre, and if there was a new armour it should be prestige. it wouldnt make me happy unless it costs 25k per peice + 250 tanned hide squares at least, so that only the hardcore players can get it.
as for all your fantasy ideas of them making new outposts. and people asking for hardmode. it just isnt going to happen, it will take too much time that anet simply doesnt have. and as for hard mode of pre. there IS a hard mode. its called post searing. check it out some time.

I have to agree with the question "why" and add in "what would be the point"?
I dont mean to sound bad here, but I wish people would learn to accept that pre-searing is a training area and it has to be defined as one. If we add new content to a training zone, then people (mostly new players) will get confused and just leave.
I'll give you proof why I say that...
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10246460
...a poor player posted that thread, because he/she was confused as to what you do when you have done all the content in pre-searing and didnt realise they hadnt actually started the main game yet.
They were asking where the missions were and what to do next!
Adding content like elite armor would worsen that and confuse people even more. Imagine a newbie finds an elite armor crafter in pre-searing, what are they going to think? Their going to assume thats the max armor level and assume there is more elite content and never leave.
Keep pre-searing a training zone and if you choose to create a new character and hang around there, then do so. But dont complain when you get bored and want new things. You know what that area is and you know whats its purpose is!
Its a training zone and nothing more and nothing less! You certainly cant expect festivals and special xmas or hallowean events to occure. I realise a lot of players like it there and I dont blame them... but it is what it is.
Not to mention Anet has slightly more important things to be doing then adding new content to training zones which dont need fixed or changed.
Sorry that all sounded very harsh, but I really dont get why people ask for pre to be changed!

Actually, the Prophecies Tutorial Area ends in Lion's Arch, after the last profession specific quests.
That's something all 3 campaigns have in common. After finishing the tutorial, you get to the Port city.
Prophecies it's just a separate 'basics' area, with some unique rules, before the second part of the tutorial.
In the first part you learn about skills, attacks, death and resurrection, quests, etc...
In the second about missions, making bigger parties, Death Penalty, etc...
Yet new content has been already added there, the title, the drops...

True.... but there is a difference between a new title, some drops compared to a whole new area and whole new armor.
I agree your tutorial continues even when you enter ascalon, but you cant deny the most important stuff is taught in pre-ascalon?
Is it, or is it not a training zone? It only differs from the noob islands in factions and NF because you cant return there.
If you could, and it existed in the same time and place I would be all for new content to an extent.
